A WANDERERS legend is to light up his home town for the festive season.
Tommy Banks, who was a member of the Whites celebrated 1958 FA Cup winning side, will turn on Farnworth’s Christmas lights next month.
The 88-year-old will join Santa Claus to do the honours at the big switch on at Home Bargains, Market Street on Wednesday, November 15.
The event gets under way at about 3.30pm and Mr Banks will flick the switch to set the town shining at about 6pm.
There will also be entertainment and choirs.
