WARNING: An example of the notices being sent out. From GMP
POLICE have issued a warning over people receiving a scam email claiming that they are to be prosecuted.
Officers are urging people not to clink links on the messages, which claim people have been speeding, and to delete them.
The Notice of Intention to Prosecute claims to be from Greater Manchester Police but these are only ever issued by post to DVLA registered addresses, not to emails.
