BOLTON boxer Amir Khan has admitted he is 'scared of literally everything' as he heads into the I'm a Celebrity jungle.

In a light-hearted preview ahead of the show's return, Khan admits he has never been camping and is scared of spiders.

But Britain's youngest boxing Olympic medallist vows he will not ask to leave the jungle.

Amir, aged 30, said: "I can handle myself in the boxing ring but a jungle could be the hardest point I ever come across.

"I'm scared of spiders, I'm scared of snakes, I'm scared of literally everything.

"And I don't like being alone. I like being around my friends.

"But I don't think I will be one of those guys to say "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here."

Other favourites to be crowned king or queen of the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! jungle include two popular soap stars from Bury.

Soap stars Jamie Lomas and Jennie McAlpine will try their luck in the wilderness.

Jamie, aged 42, best known for playing Warren Fox in Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, said he prefers five-star hotels to the jungle.

In a sneak-preview, Jamie confesses "I kind of like four and five-star hotels. I like my luxuries so this will be interesting."

Dad-of-two Jamie appeared on a number of soaps before landing his popular role, including Brookside, Casualty and EastEnders.

But Bury-born actress Jennie, aged 33, seems a little more prepared for the jungle, having practised sleeping with the landing light switched off to get her confidence up.

Coronation Street's Fiz said: "I used to be scared of the dark up until recently. In fact, I have been practising sleeping without the light on.

"My husband, Chris, is semi-confident that I can do it so that is helping me."

The former St Gabriel's RC High School pupil married her long-term partner in January this year.

Fiery red-head Jennie is a favourite on ITV soap Coronation Street, having played Fiz Brown for the past 16 years.

Other stars confirmed for the ITV show include the 35-year old wife of England and Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy and 77-year-old former Conservative MEP and father of Boris Johnson, Stanley Johnson.

The remaining five contestants include 44-year-old comedienne Shappi Khorsandi who scooped the 2007 Chortle Award and has performed stand-up on the international stage.

YouTube sensation Jack Maynard is also confirmed, alongside Made in Chelsea's Georgia Toffolo and The Saturdays singer Vanessa White.

Former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise is the last to be named in this year's programme.

He says there are a lot of football supporters he has upset over the years who will be looking forward to seeing him suffer.

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV this Sunday at 9pm.
