A CHURCH celebrated its last mass over the weekend.
The service at St Columba, in Tonge Moor, was a chance for parishioners past and present to celebrate the church's history in a service of thanksgiving.
It was revealed earlier this year that the church in Ripley Street would close after the Diocese Of Salford carried out a review of parish structures.
The Reverend John Arnold, Bishop of Salford, Parish Priest, Canon Michael Cooke and Assistant Parish Priest, Reverend Francis Parkinson were all in attendance.
After the service there was refreshments in the school hall to mark the occasion.
