THE future remains uncertain for a former Halliwell school which has been targeted by arsonists.
Police are investigating after a fire was started in the entrance hall of the old Eden Boys’ School site in Cotton Street on Sunday evening. It damaged the inside and roof of the building
The school once rented the building from Bolton Council before moving to its new premises in Wolfenden Street.
It remains in council hands but no decision has been taken on the currently unoccupied building. A council spokesman added: “We can confirm that the building has now been made secure and we are looking at future options for the site.”
