SHOPPERS have the chance to tuck into a selection of tasty festive treats when Bolton’s Christmas market opens today.
Cheese truckles, sausages and stone baked pizza are just some of the delights available at the market, which will be spread across Victoria Square, Newport Street, Deansgate, and Oxford Street in the town centre.
Around 30 traders and two bars — one on Deansgate and the Alpine Ski Bar on Victoria Square — will open for business daily from 10am.
Stalls will be selling a variety of cuisines from around the world, plus other craft items.
The markets will be in town until December 20 and will join the giant ice rink, snow slide and Santa’s grotto.
Free donkey rides will also be available Sunday, December 10.
The other Winter Festival attractions will be open until January 7.
Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Cliff Morris, said: “Christmas is getting nearer and we want to make sure there are a variety of attractions for all the family.
“The market will be a great opportunity to get some presents for loved ones or just to sample some of the treats on offer.
“We have already lots of people come and skate on the ice rink, have a go on the slide and visit Santa’s grotto.
“Together with the market there really is something for everyone in our Christmas programme.”
The Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Cllr Roger Hayes and Jaleh Hayes, will also be hosting the Mayor’s Christmas Fair in the Albert Halls from 10am to 2pm today.
