AN unusual wildlife sighting was witnessed by visitors to Nob End last weekend.
Crowds gathered at the flight of locks near Little Lever for a Celebrate your Local Art and Heritage.
The man behind the Boscow Road lock’s award-winning Meccano Bridge, designer Liam Curtin was out with a flight of small white birds.
He used the individual cut outs to create a striking, temporary art work in a giant swan with help from local residents, Manchester Bolton and Bury Canal Society and the Canal & River Trust.
Organiser Chris Nash said: “It was great to get involvement of the local schools, particularly Mytham Primary in the art competition and also have the older generations sharing their memories of the canal.”
