PLANNING: The shutters allow the Albert Hall to be blacked out from outside light
PLANNING permission is being sought by the council 20 years after shutters were installed on town hall windows.
The shutters black out the Albert Halls the lack of planning permission came to light now repair work needs to be carried out.
An application seeks to install lead flashing around windows on the Victoria Square building and retrospective permission for the installation of the shutters.
Council officer Darren Garner stated: “This is retrospective planning application for shutters. These have been in place for an estimated 20 years for the purpose of black out in the Albert Halls”
