CHRIS Green has taken up a new role as a liaison between backbench MPs and Ministers in the Department for Transport.
The Bolton West Conservative MP has been appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Department for Transport.
He said: “Over the coming weeks and months, transport will feature heavily in the legislative agenda and we are going to start to see plenty of changes in transport infrastructure up and down the country as a result of government investment — not least in Bolton, where electrification will pave the way for better carriages with more seats.
“It is going to be a busy time and I’m looking forward to working alongside ministers to ensure that Bolton and the rest of the UK has a resilient transport network.”
Mr Green has had his say on the transport funding gap between London and the North. See page 10 for more.
