THE success of this year's Bolton Music Service Presents festival of music continued on Friday as a host of musicians treated the audience to an evening of entertainment.

The Victoria Hall was the stage for another evening of fabulous performances from young bands, ensembles and orchestras.

The night was opened by the Bolton Intermediate Percussion Ensemble, who performed renditions of Coldplay's Viva La Vida and Summon The Spirits.

Next on stage were Lads a Cappella, with versions of I Wanna Grow Old With You and Lost In Your Eyes.

That was followed by Bolton Youth Symphonic Wind and Brass, who enchanted the audience, before Bolton Youth Choir performed songs including On My Own, extracts from 'Beautiful' the musical and Higher Window.

Next up was Bolton Bassoon Ensemble, and performances of the theme from 'Captain Pugwash', I Vow to Thee My Country, and Pizzicati from 'Sylvia'.

Then, Bolton Youth Harmonies, took to the stage next to perform a quarter of songs that included Pink's Just Give Me A Reason.

And Bolton Youth Orchestra rounded off a successful night with a renditions of Star Wars 'The Force Awakens', among others.

Bolton Choirs Festival was also held on Saturday with choral expert Manvinder Rattan, a judge on BBC series 'The Choir' and a performance and workshop by national and European barbershop champions, SoundHouse.
