BEING classed as an older driver, I just thought that age was to blame when I increasingly found car headlights dazzling at night.
Although I’m sure my eyesight isn’t what it once was, it is slightly reassuring to learn that a new RAC survey shows that two-thirds of motorists they questioned found modern car headlights just too bright. Most say it takes up to five seconds before they can actually see clearly again.
The RAC found that this situation was clearly causing difficulties for some road-users, so let’s hope something positive and sensible comes from that important piece of research.
