TRAIN operators have told of massive changes to services coming into force.
Northern and TransPennine Express will be editing timetables for trains across the north of England as ongoing work on Network Rail's Great North Rail Project comes into force.
Plans to complete work at key stations around the region could cause delays and disruption and passengers are urged to be aware of future changes.
Rob McIntosh, route managing director at Network Rail, said: "We know that working on the railway can be disruptive and we are working hard to keep this to a minimum.
“Important infrastructure upgrades are taking place on both sides of the Pennines, including platform extensions and signalling upgrades and, once complete, train companies will be able to run new and improved trains, improving the experience for customers.”
Full details of the upcoming timetable will be unveiled on May 20.
Passengers are asked to stay aware of the changes by checking nationalrail.co.uk or the websites of relevant operators.
