LAST week’s photograph did not prove too much of a problem it would seem.
Many of our readers recognised that it was taken in Oxford Street in Bolton Town Centre.
Stuart Manning tells us that premises in the picture include: “The Co-Op and a branch of Whittakers on the left and across the junction on the left is Alexanders Tailors.
“On the right but not visible in the picture would have been the Commercial Hotel and Alma Lofthouse hairdressers. Alma was the wife of Bolton Wanderers legend Nat Lofthouse.”
Other people with the correct answer include Eunice Fitzharris, David North, John Higson, Hilda Warburton and James Roberts.
So what about this week’s photograph — do you recognise where this was taken?
It will be a familiar scene for many of you. Ring 01204 537269 or email gayle.mcbain@nqnw.co.uk and we will do our best to include the names of as many of our readers with the correct answer as possible next week.
