THERE is no logic in expecting anyone to come back from a war zone unchanged and simply slot back into society.
We are now learning this with those who have fought for Isis and then returned to the UK to pose a security threat. What we don’t acknowledge enough is how our own troops fare once they have returned from war.
Two tragic suicides of ex-soldiers suffering the horrors of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder have now underlined this. Many veterans struggle to adapt to civilian life with homelessness and mental health problems common. We need to do more to help.
