TWO cars were destroyed in a suspected arson attack in the early hours of today.

Fire crews were called to Railway Street opposite the train station at 1am after a car believed to be deliberately set alight spread to another vehicle.

Watch Manager Carl Haslam of Farnworth Fire Station, said: “There were four cars parked there, three belonging to residents and one which is not usually there, a Kia, the fire spread to a Ka, belonging to a resident living in one of the flats.

“We stopped the fire spreading to the other cars.”

Both cars were damaged beyond repair in the blaze.
