Frangible Lace

Kathryn Message, Manager of Topshop, Market Place

"The coming months are going to see a revival of the victorian lace. Except this time, it will be feature within the medievil-esque garments in our more formal collection.

"Lace should definitely be worn skin-tight or sheer - no draping!"

Amber Taylor, Manager of New Look, Crompton Place

"Lace deatailing is not a big hit in New Look at the moment. We are steering more towards the bright colours.

"Whether skin tight, draped, layered or sheer, for me a little bit of lace certainly doesn't go a long way.

Amy Winehouse

Michael Ainsworth

"Amy's style, if done correctly, can work well. The back-combed look is a bit too extreme for daytime but toned down, it will look perfect for the evening while still in keeping with the tousled trend.

"To perfect the look use a tail comb and back-comb fine sections of hair from the crown and pin back.

Finish the Winehouse look with Kerstase double force hairspray - extra strong."

Natasha Cartwright

"Inspired by 1940s pin-up and burlesque glamour, this is a bold look to achieve and is certainly not for the faint hearted.

"To achieve the look at home, use a long flowing sleek liquid eyeliner for a less-is-more option.

"Or, go for broke with kohl pencil or wet an eyeliner brush and dip into your darkest, black eyeshadow for a block colour.

"Keep as close to your natural skin tone as possible on your cheekbones for a flawless effect - always test foundation on your jaw line not your hand, the skin tone is much different in colour.

"On you lips, apply a nude gloss, or go all-out-glamour with a deep red for evening wear."
