Shoe Boot

Is it a shoe or is it a boot? Who cares, it goes with everything.

Anyone and everyone can carry this look. They come in all styles and colours you're sure to find your favourite pair. It's about what you wear with it that matters.

Try teaming with a chunky knit dress and leggings on a shopping trip or with a tunic and oversized shirt for the office. You can throw your woollen flares over them if it's a bit nippy or if you're brave try a puffball mini-skirt - tights are a must however.

Matalan have a great range. You can get these teal v cuts, mock crocs and kitten heels for £14 each or try the brogue court for just £12.

If you wear your heels out quicker than you can say "what time does the heelers shut" then going for an investment pair might be a better option - they will last all winter after all. Head to Dune where they team their shoe boot with a statement bow for £60. Whatever your budget get on a shoe boot before they're snapped up.

Jewels

Diamonds are a girl's bestfriend or so they say, but frankly any jewel will do, as they are everywhere this season.

We're talking hemlines, necklines and cuffs. Try on the toe - ballet pump style, around the wrists and even on your clutch bag. Get a jewel to stand out from the crowd.

This look has a touch of the medieval about it. Think outside the box with geometric shapes and oversize chunky links. Go biker with hard edge studding and for a hint of sparkle go for mirrored tiles. You can't go wrong with bold gothic-inspired jewels like this necklace from Dorothy Perkins, at just £15. Cocktail rings and stretch wristbands will do the trick to add a touch of understated glamour to any outfit.

Go for reds, oranges and purples for a cheap and cheerful way to spruce up your trusty little black dress.

All in the detail

Before we go and hide our torsos under knits and wrap up for the winter you might be able to squeeze in a few detailed T-shirts.

Swap your plain white T for one with a bit of punch like this one from New Look. Ok so it's still white and technically a skinny but look at that print - that's our kind of art.

What's more it'll be a breath of fresh air underneath the hoodie your mum makes you wear so you don't catch a cold on a Saturday afternoon on the way to the cinema.

You don't need to go so bright all the time if the mood calls for try black, silver and grey on white.

Or better still you could have a go yourself with some fabric pens and a bit of creativity - just make sure they are washable.
