Dear Style Rehab

I have a shoe problem and don't know what to do. I have quite chunky calves and can't get knee high boots on. Even the ones with the elastic on top don't fit me. I need some boots for winter - help.

I hear your problem and may have the solution. Customized shoes.

If you want a pair of boots which will last then consider having them made for you. Selve - The Shoe Individualizer is a new store however you'll have to travel to London to buy a pair of their shoes - and you'll have to make an appointment. Why not treat yourself to a pre-Christmas shopping trip and book yourself in.

You'll have to have some spare cash though as they don't come cheap. These emerald green pointed shoes with contrast black suede toe come in at £295. The bordeaux (red to you and me) boots come in at £450 and the green peep toe patent shoe with banana heel are £295.

Check out the website at www.selve.co.uk or phone 0207 321 0200 for more information.

Another good site to check out is Buckles and Bows, who are experts at fitted shoes and boots. It will ensure the zip will zip up if you're on the larger side and that there are no gaping holes on thinner ladies.

Based in Stroud, Gloucestershire they have a large selection online for those who don't want to travel, ranging from leopard print suede dress boots to comfortable rubber soled flats with leather lining under £100. Check out www.hennyjames.co.uk for more information and to browse their collections.
