EDUCATION watchdogs say children at St Catherine's Catholic Primary in Lowton "thoroughly enjoy school".
Inspectors from schools' standards organisation Ofsted visited the school in Cranham Avenue to look at all aspects of classroom life and learning.
They found a school where the pupils' personal development and the curriculum was "outstanding" and teaching and achievement were "good".
The inspectors' report concludes: "Pupils' personal development and well-being are outstanding. They thoroughly enjoy coming to school where they feel safe and understand the importance of taking plenty of exercise and a healthy diet.
"They behave well and have very positive attitudes to learning."
The Ofsted team also praised the important role the school plays in the wider community through supporting charities and taking part in local events.
Headteacher Liz Connolly said the inspection success came as a result of the hard work and the dedication of everyone at the school.
