Sharples School are flying the flag for Bolton in the prestigious English Schools Under-12 Schools' Cup.
The local youngsters have made it through to the fifth round of the National Inter Schools Knockout Trophy following a string of impressive performances in earlier rounds.
The Sharples team began their quest for glory with a 5-2 victory against Leyland St. Mary's Technology College in the first round.
They followed that with a narrow 3-2 second round win against Birkdale High School (Southport) before overcoming Salendine Nook High School (Huddersfield) 2-0 in their third round clash.
They were pushed all the way in their fourth round match before running out 4-2 extra time winners against Clitheroe Grammar School.
And they will now take on Archbishop Beck Catholic College (Liverpool) for their fifth round match on Saturday.
Bolton Under-14s bid to extend their unbeaten run to four when they take on Wakefield in a challenge game on Saturday, kick off 10.30am.
The lads have picked up just four points from their five league games played so far.
