A 14-year-old girl cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car on a busy main road in Trafford.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision on Chester Road, Old Trafford, at about 5.20pm last night.
The 14-year-old cyclist was in collision with a Toyota Yaris and was taken to Trafford General Hospital but was later transferred to Pendlebury Children's Hospital with a serious head injury.
The driver of the car was not injured.
