PRIMARY school children are getting lessons in rugby from the experts.

Coaches from Bolton Rugby Union Club are working with Year Five youngsters at Beaumont School, Ladybridge, as part of their PE lessons.

The scheme is part of a Bolton-wide initiative launched by the club to work with schools to promote the sport and show that keeping fit can be fun.

Gary Kos, the club's community coach, said: "We are playing non-contact rugby and the children really enjoy it.

"We work with a lot of schools in the borough.

"There are some very talented youngsters and quite a few have joined Bolton Rugby Union Club as a result of these sessions."

Mr Kos will be spending a total of 12 hours at the school over the coming weeks.
