The Bolton Mountain Rescue Team were called to an injured walker in Rivington yesterday.
The team was contacted by the North West Ambulance Service just before noon yesterday to assist with an injured walker near to Liverpool Castle in Rivington.
The first team members were on the scene within ten minutes and commenced a primary assessment.
After assessment it was quickly established the lady had an injured ankle.
The mountain rescue team transported her, along with her husband and dog to their own vehicle for onward travel to hospital.
There was a total of 14 team members involved for just over an hour.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team is made up entirely by volunteers and is often called to help the other emergency services.
