Children across Bolton will be hoping that Santa will be bringing them all their Christmas wishes on their list tonight.

One man who hopes he’s on Santa’s good list this year is 35-year-old Matt.

Smithills Hall Museum hosted their own Elf Post Bolton Branch so that Santa could grant all the children and adults of Bolton their Christmas wishes.

Matt this year is hoping for a motorbike, and array of drinks and some cheese.

Unfortunately, Matt forgot to leave his email address for Santa to respond however, his elves wanted to let Matt know that Santa can’t promise anything but will try his best.

Smithills Hall Museum posted on Facebook: “The Elf Post Bolton Branch have now replied to all letters posted at Smithills Hall which included an email address to respond to (even those from the grownups) ... Sadly Matt, aged 35 and a half, didn't leave one for them to reply.

“The Elves just wanted Matt to know that Santa can't make any promises tonight, but you can keep on hoping for the best.

“A motorbike is probably out of the question for a naughty list member, but you never know, you might get the cheese!!

“Wishing you all a wonderful and magical Christmas (even to all of those on the naughty list like Matt!)”

So, here’s hoping that Matt at least enjoys a festive tipple and his favourite cheese on Christmas Day.

Smithills Hall has held many festive events this December with the chance to see Father Christmas earlier this month.

Children got to dress up as Victorian children and have photos taken by their Victorian Christmas tree.

Children also were able to make their very own traditional Christmas decoration.

Smithills Hall also opened its doors to a brand-new tearoom, Bake & Roast by husband-and-wife team Tim and Anna Worthington on Friday, 16 December and has been a great success already.
