Police have arrested five people after a car was stolen last night in Farnworth.
Officers spotted the stolen car in Darcy Lever and carried out an operation to catch the occupants.
The Yaris was then abandoned and after an on-foot police chase, five arrests were made.
The car has since been recovered.

A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police said: “A car was stolen at around 9pm last night in Farnworth.
“The Yaris was picked up by patrols in Darcy Lever.
“It was stung and then abandoned.
“All five occupants have been arrested following on foot chases.
“They are all in custody and the car has been recovered.”
Police have stepped up patrols in the ward recently following a number of anti-social and violent incidents.
Last mont police descended on the area in a day of action after the local community raised concerns of anti-social behaviour in the area.
