Bolton has been named one of the top 20 cities for young adults based on bars, cost-of-living, jobs and housing.

Deciding where people want to live can be a tough choice at any life stage, but it can be especially difficult for young adults.

With so many factors to consider, such as job prospects, nightlife, and affordable rent, figuring out which city is right can become quite overwhelming.

The life insurance team at Comparethemarket has crunched the data and named the cheapest – and most expensive – UK cities to rent a 1 bedroom apartment in the city centre – with our town featuring in the city list at number 11.

According to data Bolton has a population of 15.9 per cent aged between 18 and 30, with 598 jobs listed, and a happiness score of 7.52.

The town is also listed as one of the most affordable cities for renting in the UK and one of the cheapest places to rent a 1-bedroom flat in the UK.

Data shows Bolton is ranked as the fifth cheapest town with the average cost of a 1-bedroom town centre apartment priced at £550.
