This week’s beer highlight comes from the Keighley based Wishbone Brewery. The talented brewing team make an excellent range of both traditional and modern beers.
The West Yorkshire brewer’s best selling beer is Tiller Pin. The American style Pale Ale is one of my favourite session beers, at an ideal strength of 4.2% ABV.
The beer has an attractive light golden appearance, with a tight, white head. The aroma is strong and quite expected from the American hops: juicy citrus, pine, and subtle hints of spice and floral notes are all identified.
More juicy citrus fruit (grapefruit and lemon), subtle spice, soft floral and piney flavours fill the mouth. This in addition to some tropical fruit and a hint of bready malt.
Citrus fruit and tangy hops linger in the long, dry, bitter finish.
It was in fine condition and very much enjoyed at The Boat House Bar, Skipton
