A gifted 15-year-old musician – who made his debut on The Voice Kids – is taking his talents to the next level with the release of a new single.

Will Edgar found his passion for music at the tender age of six when he first learned the violin, before moving on to the guitar, drums and piano.

During his time on The Voice Kids, McFly singer Danny Jones asked him to be on his team and wanted to know more about Will when he realised they are both from Bromley Cross.

Will's new single will be released today (Monday August 21) and is called ‘I Love U?’.

He released his first album last year ‘Coffee & Car Parks’, and this single will be his 13th.

Will said: “Whether it’s on my album or released as a single I write from perspective, where I take inspiration from films or everyday life.

The Bolton News:

“At 15, I still have a lot to experience.

“I can’t wait for the single to be released.

“It is the biggest one I have done so far, and I spent so long in the studio.

“All the people behind it, including some really influential musicians have been absolutely incredible.”

His dad Mark said: “For such a young person the song is very thought-provoking and meaningful.

“It’s quite a moving love song and it has a jazz sound to it.

“There is an awful lot to be said about how proud I am.

The Bolton News:

“I love the fact that he loves his music and he has a passion for it.

“The amount of work and effort he puts in is incredible.”

Mark says that the “doors were already open” when Will went on The Voice Kids and made it through to the finals, but he says that the show put him on a bigger platform and increased his exposure.

He is also set to perform on the main stage at the Bolton Food & Drink Festival and is fully booked until Christmas.

Will said: “I love the adrenaline I get from performing live and in front of crowds.

“For me there isn’t really a difference between doing music and being a kid because I am being the kid whilst playing music.

“I want to take things as far as I can take them, whether I am out busking or performing at clubs later on, or bigger shows playing to thousands, because I love music.”
