An appeal has gone out to find a teenage girl who has gone missing.
Police say they are becoming concerned for the welfare of 16-year-old Katie Carden.
She is known to frequent Atherton and the surrounding areas and police from GMP’s Leigh, Atherton and Hindley division have appealed to members of the public to help them find her.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Katie Carden is a 16-year-old female.
“She is known to frequent Atherton and surrounding areas.
“Officers are becoming increasingly concerned about Katie and want to make sure she is safe and well.”
Officers have released an image of Katie and hope that anyone who recognises her or believes they may have seen her will come forward.
Police frequently put out missing person appeals to help them locate people they are concerned about and hope to find all over the region.
The appeals are aimed at making as many people as possible aware of the missing person and where they are likely to frequent.
Anyone who may have seen Katie or who has any information about where she may be, has been urged to come forward as soon as possible.
They can do so by calling police on 101 quoting MSP/06LL/0002282/23.
