The musical made famous by Dolly Parton will be staged in Bolton next month.

Walmsley Church Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society will be performing  9 to 5 from October 30 to November 4.

Directed by Nora Howcroft, Cath Hilton as musical director, and choreographed by Lara Syddall, 9 to 5 The Musical is based on the hit 1980 movie starring Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin.

With ‘fresh and original’ songs by Parton, this Grammy and Tony nominated 2008 musical was described by critics as a ‘triumph’ and will now take to the stage at Walmsley Parish Hall Theatre.

Vicki Wilson will be playing Violet Newstead, Olivia O'Connell will play Doralee Rhodes and Lauren Carroll will be playing Judy Bernly.

Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigoted boss, Franklin Hart Jr, CEO of Consolidated Industries.

In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot.

While Hart is accidently incapacitated, the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company and improving productivity in the process.
