Bolton's Paddy McGuinness turns daredevil for what is billed as one of TV’s scariest challenge show.

The TV presenter and comic will featuring in Channel 4's Don't Look Down as he leads a team of celebrities on a a feat never before attempted.

The team are currently undertaking a summer training camp in the Austrian Alps, tutored by the world’s foremost experts in high wire walking.

They are being coached to conquer their fears as they face a series of physically and mentally demanding training exercises and tasks designed to transform them from total beginners to those capable of scaling the heights. 

At the end of training, Paddy will lead the group as they tackle a feat never before attempted in a final secret challenge that has yet to be revealed.

All they must remember is the key advice: Don’t Look Down!

The teams include soap legend Beverley Callard, footballer Anton Ferdinand, presenter and Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, sports presenter and Love Island finalist Chris Hughes and French football icon David Ginola.

Also training for the most vertigo-inducing high wire walk imaginable are adventurer and motoring expert Charley Boorman, TikTok star GK Barry, content creator and comedian Fats Timbo and Olympic champion cyclist Victoria Pendleton.

Paddy said: “This team is outstanding. Everyone has come together and is giving their all at our training camp in the Austrian Alps.

"I’m not sure if we’re quite ready to tackle the high wire, but we’re definitely going to give it our best shot.”

The celebrities  are doing it in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

The team have all been touched by cancer and are hoping to raise a substantial sum for Stand Up To Cancer.

Paddy posted a video to his Instagram giving fans a snapshot of how training was going.

It featured Paddy and the team learning how to wire walk at a high altitude as well as throwing themselves 200m down.

Paddy captioned it: “If you have a fear of heights this show will put your anxiety levels through the roof.

“Up to 200 meters in the air, could you handle the height? Nine celebs join me in taking on a challenge that’s definitely not for the faint-hearted.”
