A man was arrested by police called to a concern for welfare.
A number of roads were closed off by emergency services as emergency services were called to St George Street in Atherton at 3pm.
Officers attended the address and a 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to a residence.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At approximately 3pm yesterday (Monday 23 October 2023), officers were called to reports of a concern for welfare of a male at an address on George Street in Atherton.
"A cordon was put in place whilst officers responded. A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to a residence."
Police confirmed that other streets around George Street, including Rosedale Avenue and Water Street, were shut, saying that they were cordoned off "for a while".
