A teenage boy has been charged with murder after the death of a 49-year-old man.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have confirmed that a 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Paul Marsh on Friday, November 17.
At around 6pm that night, police were called to a property on Samuel Street, Atherton, where a man was reported unconscious.
Officers attended and found a 49-year-old man with a serious injury. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he tragically passed away a short time later.
The man was later identified as Paul Marsh. His family have asked for continued privacy whilst they grieve, and police say they are also being kept updated with the progress of this investigation.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Youth Court tomorrow, Wednesday, November 23.
