There's plenty of festive fun to be had in Bolton - oh yes there is!

The town is staging plenty of festive shows for all the family to enjoy during the Christmas holidays.

From Cinderella’s glass slipper to comedy nights, there is an array of entertainment for all the family to enjoy during the festive gap.

The Octagon has two main shows on including Around the World in 80 Days and the Octagon Christmas comedy club.

Based on the novel by Jules Verne, Wealthy and eccentric entrepreneur Lady Phileas Fogg makes a bet that she can travel around the world in just 80 days... but surely it can’t be done?

With her entire fortune on the line, Phileas sets off from London in a wild dash across the globe.

Travelling through fascinating and exotic lands, Phileas and friends get into all sorts of adventures.

They jump from boats to trains, trek across Europe to Asia, celebrate Diwali in India and soar through the Americas battling storms and bandits.

Will they make it back to London in time for Christmas or will the bet be lost?

Tickets are priced between £15 and £32 for adults and between £18.50 and £26 for children depending on seating.

Also on at the Octagon, is the Octagon Christmas Comedy Club on December 29.

Join Mike Newall, Jenny Hart, The Halls of Ridiculous and Alun Cochrane for a night of live stand-up from some of the best names in comedy.

It's guaranteed to be the funniest night in Bolton.

Tickets are priced at £18.

Prepare to sparkle at the Albert Halls pantomime, Cinderella, presented by Polka Dot Pantomimes.

The pantomime production will re-enact the magical, fairy-tale as Cinderella overcomes her wicked stepmother and stepsisters and goes on to win the heart of the handsome Prince Charming with fun and laughter along the way.

Tickets are priced between £12 and £22 plus a booking fee.

The Victoria Halls will also be showcasing their own version of Cinderella.

With more than 30,000 tickets already sold, residents will have a ball this Christmas at The Victoria Hall, Bolton.

Tickets are selling quicker than ever and are priced at just £7.

Cabinet member for culture Cllr Nadeem Ayub said: “It is absolutely great that we have so many shows on across Bolton at the Octagon Theatre, the Albert Halls, and the Victoria Halls.

“All the events taking place are good for families and children for people of all ages, young and old, and it's great that it brings footfall into the town centre which has a knock-on effect on other businesses, so it is absolutely great.”
