Lights, camera and action!

Filming crews are back on location in Le Mans Crescent this morning with a production team setting up for a shoot for Ridley's latest season.

Huge lighting platforms were being put in place outside the library ready to shoot a scene for the hit thriller on ITV.

The stunning backdrop is often used in prime time TV series, with Ridley, starring everyone's favourite police officer Adrian Dunbar, filming there most recently.

This is the first time this year that filming crews have returned to Bolton to film.

ITV’s thriller Ridley has been filming in the 'Crescent' over the past weeks.

The show follows the titular Detective Inspector Alex Ridley, played by Line of Duty and Ashes to Ashes star Dunbar as he is brought back to the force after an early retirement due to the loss of his wife and daughter in a house fire.

Bolton has been dubbed the "Hollywood of the North" for the amount of filming that takes place in and around the borough, especially in the town centre.

Netflix’s Fool Me Once starring Michelle Keegan was filmed in Bolton and became number one on the streaming platform on the day of its release.

The opening scene features Bolton School as a backdrop and school for Richard Armitage’s character.

Everything from betrayal and deadly desires is captured in the thriller adapted by screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst from Harlan Coben’s 2016 novel.
