A golf club was cordoned off after the body of a young man was found this morning.

Emergency services were called to Deane Golf Club at 8am.

Police say that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding tragedy.

Officers were called to golf course on Broadford Road, Ladybridge, at around 8am after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “On Wednesday 24 January 2024, at around 8am, officers were called to a concern for a welfare of a man on Broadford Road in Bolton.

“Emergency services attended the scene and sadly, a man - believed to be in his 20’s - was confirmed deceased at the scene.

“After initial enquiries, officers have found to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.”

Police remained at the scene during the morning as two cordons were in place.

They left the scene just before 11am.
