Taken in August 1986, this photo shows the £2million Octagon car park in Bolton town centre development coming along nicely.
The aim was to get the new car park open in time for the Christmas shopping rush. It would provide 600 spaces on six floors.
The car park was a first for Bolton. It was the first developed in partnership with Apcoa Parking and construction giants Balfour Beatty
The building would also incorporate a row of kiosks for small shops and the main entrance for cars would be off Great Moor Street.
Parking charges had yet to be fixed when this photo was taken.
