The red carpet was rolled out for the the Oscars for the am-dram world - with one company bagging six awards.

Productions from a much-loved little theatre hit the spotlight last week as producers took home six awards at the NODA North West District 5 Awards.

Tyldesley Little Theatre (TLT) had not long finished their first play of the year before they were off to celebrate the amazing productions of 2023 at the Last Drop Village on Saturday, February 10.

Danny Tooby took the award for ‘Best Actor in a Comedy’ for his  portrayal of Brian Runnicles in ‘No Sex Please – We’re British' and Andrea Peters collected the ‘Shining Star’ award.

The other four awards were for TLT’s record breaking pantomime ‘Hansel and Gretel’, whose tickets sold out in a record four and a half hours.

Celebrations were had all round by the team who look forward to showcasing many more plays this season – including Abigail’s Party coming to the theatre in March.

The awards night was held by the District 5 Region of NODA, the National Operatic and Dramatic Association, to celebrate local theatre to whom the theatre members of Tyldesley Little Theatre offer their grateful thanks, as not only was TLT’s work recognised by the awards which they won, a great night out was had by all.
