Young people with designs on success will have their artwork professionally displayed to celebrate the 75th birthday of the NHS.

The landmark anniversary was celebrated last July and children in Bolton were invited to create special artwork to mark the historic milestone.

The winning designs have not been announced by Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.

More than 150 entries were submitted on the theme of  ‘thank you’ to the NHS and the thousands of staff in Bolton who provide care to the town’s communities.

Designs included landscape paintings of Royal Bolton Hospital, portraits of nursing staff, and picture collages of what the NHS means to Bolton’s young people.

The competition was so tough that judges were unable to settle on only one winner and after careful consideration chose six winners to have their incredible designs displayed at the hospital for people to enjoy for years to come.

Winners included Jai, Allie, Dolly Rose, and Imani, all from Lostock Primary School, Tia from Masefield Primary School, Larna Rae from Cherry Tree Primary School.

St Peter’s C.E. Primary School were announced as the digital winner as they created an observational painting of the Royal Bolton Hospital.
