An open evening exploring the benefits of doing a postgraduate course will be held by the University of Bolton.

The event is designed to give people the chance to find out more about courses on offer and the career opportunities which can open up as a result.

University academic and students say courses like this can be crucial in helping people stand out in the jobs market.

MSc accountancy with financial management student Syeda Fatima said: “I decided to study a postgraduate degree straight after graduation to expand my subject knowledge and expertise, to help me become a more skilled professional.

“The flexibility offered has been extremely beneficial in maintaining a balanced lifestyle while pursuing Higher Education.”

University academics, staff and student support members will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions.

University of Bolton director of jobs for students Julie Bateman said: “Undertaking a postgraduate qualification allows students to learn specialist knowledge, industry best practice and transferable skills such as project management, teamwork and advanced research skills.

She added: “This investment in the future prepares our students to transition into their desired career. 

“Don’t forget, graduates with advanced qualifications can often command higher salaries.”

The event will take place on Wednesday March 13 from 4pm to 7pm.
