The arrival of the Easter holidays in 1991 saw an exciting new addition to the attractions of Bolton’s popular leisure pool, the Water Place.
Treasure Island was the largest inflatable in the pool complex, complete with slide, palm trees and even a treasure chest.
Youngsters were given the challenge of getting from one end to the other without falling into the pool.
If you were a Water Place regular back then, do you remember the large inflatable?
Water Place was opened by the Queen in 1988 having cost £5.8million. It closed in 2002 and Morrison’s supermarket now occupies part of the site.
