A man and woman were arrested today after drugs, cash and mobile phones were discovered in a police raid.

This came when officers from Greater Manchester Police’s Bolton West team raided a house on Leicester Avenue, Horwich on Thursday April 4.

There, officers say, they found a stash of Class B drugs along with the cash and mobile phones and arrested the man and woman at the scene.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Following receiving intelligence from the community, officers from the Bolton West team have applied to a magistrate for a warrant to search an address on Leicester Avenue, Horwich.

“Intelligence received stated that drugs were being stored, used and dealt from the address. On the basis of this intelligence, a warrant was granted by the courts.

“The warrant was executed today and a male and a female were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

“A quantity of drugs, cash and mobile phones were seized from the address and will form part of the investigation.”

Officers say that they will continue investigating drug crime in Horwich and elsewhere across the borough of Bolton.  

“We will also be completing follow-up work with our partner agencies to provide long-term problem-solving support to the community.”
