A car was seized this week after its driver tried to “make off at speed” from police.

Officers had been on patrol around Tonge Moor when they first spotted the red Seat on the evening of Thursday April 11 this week.

The car sped off and the officers gave chase before eventually finding and seizing the car on Chapel Street in the town centre.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “This car has been seized by officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team following a pursuit.

“Officers first spotted the car on Scowcroft Street in Tonge Moor this evening but the driver decided to make off at speed, putting other road users at risk.
