Bolton's cycling sensation Jason Kenny qualifies for the sprint final where he can spoil fellow Brit Chris Hoy's gold medal hat-trick party.

Kemnny, aged 20, from Farnworth, who already has a gold medal from the three man sprint team's success, is guaranteed a silver medal at the very least in the best of three sprint final. Schediuled times for the race off are Heat One (11.40am), Heat Two (12.10pm) and if a decider is necessary Heat Three will be at 12.30pm.

Hoy moved a step closer to a hat-trick of gold medals after coming through his semi-final against Mickael Bourgain of France. The 32-year-old from Edinburgh was hardly troubled by Bourgain and Hoy won the best of three series in straight races.

Hoy and Bradley Wiggins - who races later in the Madison in partnership with Mark Cavendish - are both seeking to become the first Britons in 100 years to win three Olympic golds at the same Games.

Kenny looked in fine form as he also came through his semi in straight races, against Germany’s Maximilian Levy, and with Hoy became the first Briton since Reg Harris in 1948 to reach an Olympic sprint final. Harris won silver.
