AN appeal against the closure of a massage parlour in Radcliffe has been dismissed by the Planning Inspectorate.

The appeal was submitted by the owner of Christina’s Palace at 76-80 Water Street after Bury Council’s refusal of a planning application and the serving of an enforcement notice requiring the closure of the premises.

The planning inquiry took place in November and planning inspector Jaqueline North upheld the decision of Bury Council to refuse permission.

She said the use of the premises as a massage parlour was inappropriate because of its location and appearance, and that it was harmful to the character of the area.
