A POWER cut left hundreds of homes and businesses in the dark.
The cut affected 800 properties the Valley area of Bolton on Saturday afternoon. It was caused by a fault on an underground cable.
The Total Fitness gym’s three swimming pools were closed on Saturday afternoon, all day Sunday and Monday morning.The rest of the gym was unaffected and all the pools are now open again.
A United Utilities spokesman apologised for the cut and said: “We managed to get power restored to the majority of the properties within 90 minutes, but unfortunately 15 commercial premises were without power until the next day. We managed to restore power to Total Fitness by 7.30am on Sunday. Power was restored by 5pm to the other 14 properties.”
