A WOMAN attacked by yobs in Little Hulton says she is too scared to leave her home.

The 33-year-old woman, who has asked not to be named for fear of reprisals from her attackers, was assaulted by two men as she walked in the street.

As reported in yesterday’s The Bolton News, she was attacked from behind by two men while walking the short distance along Manchester Road East.

They punched her three times in the face and laughed as she fell to the ground, banging her face on the pavement.

She said: “There was no-one around and I didn’t see where they came from. I didn’t even see the men, so I have no idea what they look like.”

The woman, who lives in Little Hulton, managed to stagger to the New Inn for help.

Staff there contacted her boyfriend, who took her to the Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment.

As a result of the attack, she is now too scared to leave her home.

She said: “I’ve walked around in that area at night before and nothing like this has ever happened. I’m not going out now because I’m worried that it could happen again. I’m really scared.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them on 0161 856 5351 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
