A DATE has been fixed for a charity boxing challenge.
Police officers in the blue corner will be going toe-to-toe against firefighters in the red corner in what has been named “The Battle of the Badges.”
The officers have started a three-month training regime designed by Amir Khan’s team of coaches.
At the end of the training, the emergency crews will go head-to-head in individual bouts, under full Amateur Boxing Association rules, at a gala charity event at the Reebok Stadium on June 27.
Tickets cost £10 per head or £300 for a table of 12.
The event will raise cash for the Firefighters Charity, Amir Khan’s not-for-profit Gloves Gym in Prince Street and The Mayor of Bolton’s charities — The Sea Cadets, Derian House Children’s Hospice and Bolton Samaritans.
To buy tickets call Colin Hayes on 01204 535 332.
To sponsor the event, call is Asif Vali on 01204 520607 or Ian Bailey on 01204 905121.
