BOLTON Harrier Fraser Jardine finished fourth representing Manchester in the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships Under-20s race at Nottingham on Saturday.

Becky Fordham continued her preparations for the English Schools Cross Country Championships with 125th in the under-20s race, while Georgia Taylor-Brown came 14th in the U15s, and Leah Peploe finished 86th in the U13s.

Katie Ingram was the only Horwich Harrier selected for the championships and was Lancashire’s second finisher.

Bolton Harrier Jack Gamory was in outstanding form in finishing tenth in the Daffodil Doddle at Abbey Villager. Club-mates Jacob Kearney and Bryony Mutton finished 38th and 44th respectively.

In the longer, six-mile version of the race – the Roddlesworth Roller – Ian Selby was an outstanding fourth out of 282 runners, and second veteran. Maria Lowe won the women’s race, and Sean McMyler won the over-45s.

Horwich Harrier Rob Jackson was second in the main race and first veteran. Club-mate Paul Boardman’s 16th and Ian Hamer’s 18th earned the vets team prize.

Suzanne Budgett won the over-45s and was fourth in the ladies. With Rachel Metcalfe 13th and Gaynor Higson 15th, Horwich won the ladies team prize.

Astley & Tydesley Roadrunners had four athletes in the first 15 at the Roddlesworth Roller, with Simon Ford leading the way. Paul Mannion was second A&T finisher, seven seconds ahead of Troy Topping, and Shaun Moran was fourth A&T runner – second over-45 – as the men’s team finished second.

Mark Riches won the over-60s and Mary-Anne Aguera was third in the ladies race.
