THERE was an international flavour to lessons at Essa Academy last week.
The British High Commissioner to Cameroon, Syd Maddicott dropped into the school in Great Lever during a visit to strengthen Bolton’s international ties.
Mr Maddicott spoke to children about the work of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and issues such as climate change, human rights, trade and investments, counter terrorism and helping British citizens abroad.
The children also learnt how they could go about applying for one of the many positions in the FCO.
